About us
Crystallization is an important operation of separation in chemical processes. Also, crystallization is a building-up operation of nanoparticles. Recently, specialists of crystallization decline in number, and it is urgent need how to foster young researchers. In recent years, crystallization has been moving ahead from inorganic materials to organic materials.
Current level of technology, trend and activities in future
- Crystallization of fine particles, utilization of special reaction fields, measurement technology
The needs for the production of fine particles are still high in many fields such as batteries, catalysts, pharmaceuticals, foods, and cosmetics, and the demand for crystallization technology is considered to be sufficient.
We will continue to disseminate advanced technical information on crystallization methods and equipment, while also introduce practical examples of new process development such as particle generation processes using special reaction fields, which have attracted attention in recent years, and provide analytical and measurement technologies that are essential for process development. - Protein, co-crystal, co-amorphous crystallization
In recent years, the pharmaceutical industry has seen the rise of low-molecular-weight compounds and high-molecular-weight drugs such as protein drugs, and the choice of modalities has expanded to include nucleic acid drugs, cell drugs, and regenerative medicine. In the food field, the development of functional foods based on phytochemicals is also flourishing. The commercial-scale production of these new substances and their modification to be easily water-soluble are important themes, and crystallization technology is used as a key technology. We will continue to plan lectures on protein, co-crystallization, and co-amorphous crystallization as the main themes, in order to meet the demand for more highly functional pharmaceuticals and functional foods.
